Embroidery, painting, and cartography

2017; New Orleans, LA

This 3 x 5 ft. map of New Orleans was created using a family member’s collection of matchboxes from restaurants and hotels in this historic city. This painting, influenced by my 2 years in architecture school, blends my interests in cartography, my love for bird’s-eye views, and my treasured years living in New Orleans.

Multimedia Mural

2017—2021; New Orleans, LA

This is a multimedia mural in the living room of a beautiful New Orleans shotgun home. Acrylic paint, fabric, sentimental movie posters, and gold leaf make this Maxfield Parrish-inspired dreamscape come to life. I love taking sentimental pieces of someone’s past and transforming them into a cherished piece of art.

Multimedia mural

2023; Santa Fe, NM
This fun “pop-up” mural was a collaboration with my stepson and inspired by our favorite time of year: Halloween and Dia de los Muertos. It was made in a temporary style able to be taken down easily. The materials used include my grandmother’s 40-year old set of pastels, acrylic paint, as well as additional details using tape, ribbon, cloth, feathers and fake marigolds. An informal pop-up mural can be good for a party, holiday, or just a change of scenery without having to commit to permanent changes on your walls.
